Some Things Lynda Liked....

Coffee (black)
Leonardo DiCaprio (Titanic was at its height)
Books
Phone (she would've been dangerous with her cell phone had she lived long enough to have one)
Electronic Gadgets
Sleeping
High heels
Tofu
Japanese blow dryer (with brush attached)
Any Mirror
Tweezer

What else comes to mind???

From Sohee:

Definitely coffee, black, no sugar
Red lipstick, but not too bright
Dresses
Letter writing
Boys with good hair
Natalie Merchant/10,000 Maniacs
A post-meal cigarette
Anything girly that made her feel pampered

OMG, I totally forgot to add that she LURVED to debate - with anyone and about anything. A force to be reckoned with.

Thank you Amy for doing this and thanks to Lynda's friends for blogging. It's really nice for me to get to learn new things about Lynda as an adult since I spent more time with her when we were kids.

Here are a couple of things I remember she liked when we were little:

Ralph Macchio after we saw the Karate Kids - maybe that's when her love of boys with good hair started!

Pepperoni, mushroom, and olive pizza - she chose the pepperoni topping - and she would always win the pizza eating contests - she didn't like to lose back then either.

Art - she was such a good artist even at a young age and had the best handwriting. I could barely draw stick figures.

I miss her a lot. She was the best (older) cousin ever.

Sun Hyung, you're right. I forgot. She loved to doodle in her notebook margins. Flowers, patterns. Mine looked so elementary school while hers was art.

She still loved pepperoni pizza in college but with BEER.

Ralph Macchio? Leonardo Di Caprio? She did have a thing for pretty boys with good hair, with a couple of exceptions.

A nice glass of red wine, or maybe more than a couple of glasses, haha (I remember sharing at least 3 bottles between the two of us one "let's have a mellow night at home") as we talked for hours and hours.

Art definitely, I remember seeing beautiful drawings that she had drawn and pinned up on her wall in her room in college.

Red lipstick, yeah, the right shade that makes heads turn.

Dresses, Lynda had great style, and always looked feminine and gorgeous.

Good food and company - I've had so many delicious and enjoyable meals with Lynda, and she was a wonderful cook.

Movies - we saw Romeo & Juliet (Leonardo version, of course) and The English Patient together, the latter left us both leaving the cinema with swollen eyes from crying.

Friends - Lynda was the best friend, she was loyal, generous, kind, always a blast to hang out with, always there to support you, always willing to listen and give constructive advice. She's still always here for me.

Laughing - we've shared many silly moments, there was never a dull moment with Lynda, we'd either be absolutely silly or we'd be having the deepest philosophical debates, haha

Picnic on a warm sunny day in Ithaca - bottle of wine, brie and baguettes

Talking and dreaming - we were always talking about the future, dreaming about being each other's bridesmaid, about living together if she came to Hong Kong, about finding the perfect guy, about life in general.

Writing letters and cards - after college as I moved back to Hong Kong, one of the best things was to receive the regular updates Lynda would send to me.

I miss Lynda a lot, and I think of her often. She's never far from my thoughts or my heart, and she will always be one of my best friends -xo-
